The Free Store

The Free Store at Camp Christian is in need of some donations to replenish the Food Pantry and Blessing Box.
The most needed items right now are:

  • Canned goods such as Soup, Vegetables, Tuna and Chicken
  • Boxed potatoes, stuffing, hamburger helper and noodles
  • Peanut Butter
  • As well as personal care items like toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, body wash, feminine products, deodorant, soaps, detergents, and sanitizers.

We have an Amazon wish list for the Free Store if you would be interested in making your donation that way. Items can be ordered and shipped directly to Camp Christian. The list can be viewed at https://a.co/f9hMkNQ. (Please note, this is just a simple way to streamline these types of donations. You can always purchase items from your local stores and/or take collections at your Congregations and then bring them to Camp Christian.)

The Free Store at Camp Christian has served over 2,200 people in need over the last eleven years. It has been a meaningful ministry and much needed resource for folks in the surrounding area around Camp Christian. It is a blessing to be able to serve our community with this ministry. 2021 Camp and Conference Survey

This survey is both for persons who have attended as well as those who have never attended an event at Camp Christian, the Christian Church in Ohio’s Regional Camp & Conference Center in Magnetic Springs, Ohio.

The first section will be broad and general questions that will help the Camp Christian Committee and the Regional Church Council make strategic and long-range decisions about the camp program and facilities.

The second section will be specific questions about this past summer’s Church Camp Program (2021).

The third section is for you to tell us a little about yourself if you are willing.

Renewal Initiative

As we plan for the new program year we invite you to participate in the 2021 Renewal Initiative. This will be an opportunity to both celebrate your gracious generosity in 2020 and to invite you to again give to support the mission and ministry of the Christian Church in Ohio and Camp Christian in 2021. Your gift will do two things: it will keep us on solid ground and it will move us forward confidently as we reimagine new ways of being Christ’s church at work and in witness to the world.

In 2020 you far exceeded expectations for the Renewal Initiative by giving $120,028.44 towards our initial goal of $75,000. Your gifts were designated:
• $20,523.75 towards the Regional Church Operating Expenses
• $55,334.69 towards the Camp Christian Operating Expenses
• $44,171.00 to where we needed it most

Abundant thanks go out to the 23 congregations, 65 clergy, and 156 laypersons who gave to the Renewal Initiative. You have made the ministry we are doing possible!

Our hope is to raise with the Renewal Initiative at least $100,000 this fall, and already you have given $34,450.00 toward this goal. Once again we are asking for your generosity through your prayers and financial support. We also hope to double the number of congregations (50), clergy (130), and laypersons (300) who support the ministry of the Regional Church through this effort.

Here are a few of the tasks that need worked on around Camp Christian.
We hope that there is a task suited for a wide range of ages and abilities.

  • Cleaning Cabin Clusters
  • Clean & Organize Free Store
  • Set up Green Chairs around Camp
  • Repair Screens
  • Clean out gutters and downspouts
  • Retrieve Boats and Clean them
  • Weed control throughout Camp
  • Hang light fixtures
  • Repair Soffit
  • Install Culvert under Driveway
  • General grounds cleanup
  • Just to name a few!

Please wear work clothes, boots or heavy duty shoes, and bring gloves. Please pack your own lunch. Snacks, Coffee and Water will be provided. Up to date Covid protocols will be followed.

Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have a legal parent or guardian attending and working with them.

CAMP CHRISTIAN SUMMER 2021

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Policies: Due to the serious nature of the Coronavirus/Covid-19, we have been preparing our
physical grounds as well as our camp programming to ensure that we are as healthy and safe as possible. Over the past year, the Union County Health Department has been helping us to craft these policies and procedures. While the
specifics of these plans are subject to change based on the recommendations of the Health Department, the most up to date policies and procedures for Camp Christian 2021 can be found at https://www.ccinoh.com/camp-christian.aspx.

Registration: It is very important that your registration be sent in by the deadline in order that we may have a place for
you in camp. There is an Early Bird registration rate for all registrations postmarked and paid in full (or scholarships
approved) by June 1, 2021. All other deadlines are set as postmarked no later than 10 days prior to the start of the Camp or Conference. Checks are to be made out to Christian Church in Ohio. You can also register online with a credit card at: http://www.ccinoh.org . See the full schedule including deadlines on the second page of this document. All registration fees are due and payable in full on or before registration day.


Scholarships and Payments: Many churches award scholarships to assist with the fees. Money should never be a reason why a child doesn’t come to camp. We will work with parents, churches, and sponsors (see below) to ensure that any child who would like to attend Camp Christian will be able to come. The Regional Church Office offers payment options and some scholarship assistance. Scholarship awards must be approved at least 10 days prior to registration day. There is a separate form for scholarship requests. If you want to make payments, you can also start that at any time. Please remember that you need to be paid in full by the deadlines listed to receive the correlating rate.

Work Day at Camp Christian

The time has come to get some work done!

Join us Saturday, August 29th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm as we tackle step one of the Monroe Lodge Bathroom Project.

A while ago Camp Christian was generously gifted some funding to do improvements to the bathrooms in the Monroe Lodge. This was done so the bathrooms could meet ADA requirements. The funding is there, now it’s time for people to be there to help get the work done. That’s where you come in! We need your help prepping the bathrooms for the renovation.

Some things for you to know:

  1. Masks will be mandatory while working and we will be following all safety guidelines for social distancing practices.
  2. You will need to bring your own lunch and water.
  3. If you are able to bring hammers, screwdrivers, and any basic tools, that would be helpful.
  4. Unfortunately there is no overnight option. Everything at camp has been shut down this summer and we are not able to “turn things on” for people to stay there at this time.
  5. If you can’t make it for the whole day, that is fine. Just come for as long as you can. Any help is appreciated!
